This is just sad
The Federal government is offering states extra money if they do a number of things, including using data on student achievement in evaluating teachers. This is one response, from a New York City web log. There are arguments against differentiated pay for teachers within a school, but this doesn’t engage in, or with, any of them.

North Country Public Radio is a wonderful radio station that broadcasts throughout upstate New York. Because it’s quite mountainous, there are about 30 transmitters and translators on different frequencies throughout the region. This map provides a great graphic that allows you to quickly figure out which frequency (or sometimes frequencies) to try, depending on where you are.
We’re visiting my wife’s birthplace, Potsdam, NY, for a memorial service for her father, who died earlier this summer, before heading back to Michigan on Sunday.
