Recently I’ve been receiving a deluge of registrations on this site for no apparent reason. Akismet is pretty good at catching the comment spam, but I’ve ratcheted up the security required for posting a comment. So if you haven’t had an approved comment, anything you might add won’t show up for a bit.

My mother has a friend who credulously sends along all of these, although I hadn’t seen the one that claims he has a relative named “Washeteria.” I see that Snopes.com has a page of Obama rumors for one stop shopping.
