Rob Kail, of Purdue, talked about how Harold infected him with an interest in photography as a graduate student, taking him along to camera shops and getting him to spend more money and time than he had to spare on photography. Like all of Harold’s enthusiasms, it was quite infective, and also like all of them, it had deep and positive consequences for those who acquired them. The photograph shows Rob’s daughter, whose life and development have been well documented thanks to the aforementioned expertise.
