The black period can last 360 days
Sunday I will travel to Zhuhai (Pearl Sea, I think) with Zhang Houcan, to visit the branch campus of Beijing Normal University. The experiments seem to be going pretty well (wait: what’s that ominous music?), so it should be okay for me to skip town for a few days.
In preparation, I’ve been trying to find out about the place, and came up with this on the first try (emphasis added):
“Zhuhai lies in the southern part in Guangdong province. It is not only the economical peculiar area but also the important port. It is 1266 square kilometers in area. The population is 550 thousand.
Zhuhai located at the southern edge of the Zhujiang Delta. In Zhuhai, there is plain, hilly land and terrace area. Along the coast, there are 140 islands, so we call here “Islands City” The western area is covered by a lot of rivers. It is the maritime monsoon climate in the south inferior torrid zone. The average temperature is 22.4 degree Celsius, and the average precipitation is 1,990mm. The black period can last 360 days. About the mineral resources, mainly, there is quartz sand, granite and building sand.”
I’ll update this entry as I learn more. Also, I’ll probably try to get my gifts from there, so if you have prefer a particular kind of sand, do let me know.
